This year's Elizabeth Tilley Howland Scholarship winner is Renee Jonsson, daughter of SMDPA member Adrienne and her husband Lars. Renee is a 2024 graduate of Bishop Shanahan High School in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. At Bishop Shanahan she was President of STEM Club, Co President of Light Crew, Vice President of Gaming Club, Section Leader and 1st Chair for Marching, Pep, and Concert Bands, and a member of National Honors Society. In addition, Renee was an Instructor in training and member of Tiger Kicks Taekwondo Demo Team. She also served as Assistant Teacher at Children's Liturgy of the Word and Sunday School at St Patrick's Parish in Kennett Square. She is now majoring in Engineering at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, with a goal of working in the Aerospace industry. It was a delightful experience having Renee and her parents at our Thanksgiving celebration in Chester County, where Renee read her essay for our dinner program.
