To our loyal members and cousins,
With summer waning new events and activities lie ahead. Mark your calendars for our Thanksgiving service in Old City Philly on November 24th. We will enjoy a beautiful service, dinner and donate funds to grateful church. There will be a float in the Rose Bowl parade on New Year’s Day that many of our membership will be riding.
Our updated website is now operational and paying dividends in communication and time saving. Did you know about 2/3 of our members have verified email addresses and that dues renewal or event registrations as well as store purchases or donations can be made on-line? It is easy. And for a trip down memory lane, check out our Members Area on the website for a contest pertaining to a SMDPA Thanksgiving event from the past.
Thanks to all that have paid your dues timely! If you have missed our invoice, please contact us.
We were blessed to have known Don Miller and very sad that he passed. What a great supporter of our society! Our deepest sympathy to Deb and Joan as they mourn and adjust.
Our new officers and Board of Assistants have been active this summer. They work very hard behind the scenes ensuring our ship stays on course.
Laura Tyndall will be representing us in Colorado at the board of assistants meeting. No doubt there will be news to share afterwards about upcoming GSMD activities for 2020 and beyond.
Western Colony held an event in July at Fort Ligonier in Latrobe. Photos are posted on our website (under previous events or by viewing photo gallery in the Members Area of the website). Our Captain, Keith Kammenzind was in attendance.
Our newsletter has been reformatted thanks to our Deputy Governor, Deb Georgantis-Miller and new volunteers Pam Palchowski and Sara Droddy, both from the Western Colony. We are going to press early to make sure our next edition arrives timely.
Jim Buckner has announced a scholarship winner, we are blessed to have a worthy recipient and trust our Mayflower support will guide the winner through their career and life.
As our 400-year anniversary in 2020 looms. Feel free to offer ideas for celebration and be prepared to participate in the events.
We have secured and will be announcing a very special speaker for our annual meeting April 19, 2020, stay tuned, location to be determined.
Thanks for your support!
Governor, Reed Kneale
