1896 — Robinson Memorial Church Plaque, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, England
This Congregationalist Church was built to honor Pastor Robinson who preached in Gainsborough before fleeing to Holland. A memorial tablet inscribed in the wall reads: + TO THE / GLORY OF GOD / THIS STONE IN MEMORY OF / JOHN ROBINSON PASTOR AND EXILE / WAS LAID ON JUNE 29TH 1896 / BY THE HON. T. F. BAYARD / AMBASSADOR IN ENGLAND / OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

1902 — Pastor John Robinson Plaque, Robinson Memorial Church, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, England
This plaque in the church vestibule reads: "This Tablet unveiled June 11th, 1902 in the 300th year after the formation of the church in Gainsborough with which the name of JOHN ROBINSON is associated stands as a record of the cooperation of American and English Congregationalists in erecting a building to commemorate him the thought of whom stirs equal reverence in English and American hearts."

This magnificent medieval manor is one of the best in the country and an evocative reminder of days gone by. Illustrious royal visitors, both Richard III and Henry VIII, were guests of the Burgh family, who originally built and lived in the building. The Mayflower Pilgrims and John Wesley worshipped within its walls.

(22DEC2009) Mariner Peter Arenstam will be the 12th annual recipient of our Katharine Fox Little Distinguished Mayflower Scholarship Award at the luncheon following our 113th Annual Membership Meeting on Saturday, January 23, 2010. We cite him for his imparting 17th century Pilgrim maritime history.
