1922 — Massasoit Statue, Capitol Gardens, Salt Lake City, UT
Designed by Cyrus E. Dallin, this bronze statue of the Pilgrims' friend, the good sachem Massasoit of the Wampanoag is from the original plaster figure used for the statue on Coles Hill, Plymouth, MA. The plaster model was presented to the State of Utah and displayed for a time in the Capitol rotunda. Later it was duplicated as a bronze casting funded by the Nicholas Morgan Sr. Foundation which stands in front of the Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City.
